Message from the Superintendent
February 2, 2017
With 2017 off to a great start, I’m pleased to share that we’re making good progress on the district’s strategic plan and have also kicked off the goal-setting process for our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The LCAP is a district-wide plan that is updated annually and -- importantly -- reflects the input and voice of the entire community.
As such, I’m writing to personally invite you to attend one of several community meetings we’re holding over the next month where we’ll be sharing goals and priorities for the future of the San Leandro Unified School District. Community input is essential so I hope you can join us for one of the following sessions:
Monday, February 13th, 6:30 pm - (English) Muir Middle School Library - 1444 Williams St
Wednesday, February 15th, 6:30 pm - (Chinese/中文) McKinley School Multipurpose Room - 2150 E 14 St
Tuesday, February 28th, 6:30 pm - (Spanish/Español) Jefferson School Library- 14300 Bancroft Ave
Wednesday, March 1st, 6:30 pm - (English) San Leandro Senior Center - 13909 E 14th St.
Translation services will be available at all of these meetings.
In addition, the Board of Trustees and the administration are working on our new strategic planning goals which will be integrated into LCAP. We will be sharing progress on this front during the sessions.
On behalf of myself and our district staff, I look forward to your input as we move forward in our mission of providing a world-class education for all students.
Mike McLaughlin, Ed.D.
