This is the weekly update for the week of April 24.

Spring Break: 
April 17 -21. School will resume on April 24.

SBAC: Our testing schedule will begin as soon as we get back from Spring Break. The first week will entail practice and then the second week we will dive right into the tests. The dates for testing will be from April 24-May 24. Please try and have your scholar at school everyday all day to avoid having to make up the tests. Your support is appreciated.

Yearbooks:  Did you buy a yearbook yet? Due to high demand, yearbooks are on sale NOW for a short time only. To RESERVE your BMS 2017 YEARBOOK return your yearbook order form with cash or check for $35 to the Main Office. Order forms are available in the office. This is your LAST CHANCE to reserve the BMS 2017 Yearbook. Order yours today! 

Residency Verification: This year the district will be conducting residency verification for 8th grade students going into the ninth grade at the middle schools.  When: May 3 at Bancroft from 2:30-6-:30.  

Remind: Do you want to receive messages from the school by text? Sign up for text updates. Text the message @bancroftmi to the number 81010. You can also download the app to manage messages.

BMT: The BMT presents Singing in the Rain will perform May 18 –21 at the AEC. Please Save the Date!!

8th Grade Activities: Just a reminder to all 8th grade parents that as part of the San Leandro Unified School District’s 8th grade Promotion & Activities criteria, 8th grade students cannot have more than 2 F’s in the 3rd & 4th quarter combined. For the detailed criteria, please visit our website. We will also mail home the criteria to all 8th grade parents.

Mandarin: Bancroft will be offering a FREE four week session brought to you by the SAN LEANDRO ASIAN COMMUNITY CULTURAL ASSOCIATION. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 2pm - 3pm starting on May 2. If you are interested please have your scholar come to the office for a permission slip.  

Math Acceleration: There is a new process for math acceleration. Please visit our website for more information.

Summer School Program 2017: Extended school year program and enrichment/intervention programs will be held at Jefferson Elementary School 8:00 am to 12:00 pm Monday to Thursday. SLED Scholarships: SLED is sponsoring the Youth Opportunity Scholarships initiative again. If you are interested in applying for a $500 scholarship to participate for an after school program such as dance, sports, tutoring, and even more, please contact Ms. Garcia at ext 3612.

The library is open every day except Friday after school until 5pm. If your scholar needs support or just a quiet place to work they can come to L.A.S.T. Computers are also available for use.
