Educational Services
Special Services
Resource Specialists provide special education services for any identified
special education students who can participate in the general education
program for a majority of their school day. It provides an instructional
setting that supports both the student and the general education teacher
and facilitates the student’s participation in general education.
Special Day Classes are designed to provide appropriate services
for students who participate in Special Education for a majority of
their day. Maximum participation with their non-disabled peers is
encouraged and facilitated as appropriate.
Many students require related services in one or more areas in order
to benefit from their special education programs.
Each public school child who receives special education and related
services must have an Individualized Education Program (IEP). Each
IEP is designed for the individual student and creates an opportunity
for teachers, parents, school administrators, related services personnel,
and students (when appropriate) to work together to improve educational
results for children with disabilities.
