I am so excited to join your vibrant school community. As I transition into the role of Principal, I look forward to learning more about all of the wonderful aspects of Roosevelt School. Over the past few years I have served as Vice Principal at two San Leandro Elementary Schools (Wilson and Jefferson) and as a District Instructional Coach. I bring with me a passion to ensure all students have outstanding learning opportunities and that all teachers have the support needed to implement effective classroom instruction.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with many of the Roosevelt teachers as a coach in their classrooms, a PLC District Site Lead, Professional Development facilitator and teacher colleague. I’ve seen first hand what an incredibly dedicated, creative, and hard- working group of educators the Roosevelt teachers are. It will be an honor to work with and learn from and with them this year.
Prior to starting my teaching career, I earned my Master’s and Doctorate from UC Berkeley in Education. I also worked in the for-profit education industry as a Regional Director, designing and implementing support programs for schools throughout California. I consider myself a life-long learner, and look forward to joining the Roosevelt tradition of reflective practice and the relentless pursuit of excellence in the classroom.
I can’t wait to meet each and every one of you very soon. Please stop by and say hello when you get a chance.
