Thomas Jefferson Elementary School is comprised of approximately 550 students of a wide diversity of races, cultures and languages. This wonderful diversity is a delightful advantage for Jefferson School, providing a multitude of perspectives and experiences. We embrace this diversity and are engaged in equity work and professional development to address the varied needs and raise our student achievement to levels of excellence and eliminate the achievement gaps.
Jefferson School is proud to have a new state-of-the-art facility that includes beautiful classrooms, an incredible Library/Media Center with an iMac computer lab, an art room and support rooms that provide for excellent physical environments for our students, staff and parents. The access to and availability of modern technology is the dream of elementary educators, and we have a comprehensive technology plan that will guide us in creating new educational opportunities for our students. We have partnered with Kid’s for the Bay to develop the first Urban Wilderness Classroom (outdoor garden) to teach our students science and environmentalism. Jefferson School has an active, engaged English Language Advisory Committee, School Site Council and a growing PTA.
