Principal's Statement
Lincoln High School (our district's continuation high school) and Lighthouse Independent Study Center (a program of San Leandro High School) serve as the alternative educational programs for San Leandro Unified School District.

Lincoln High School was established to provide an opportunity for students to earn a high school diploma who would not have been able to graduate from San Leandro High School due to credit deficiency.  Lincoln has a maximum student population of 90, with each class having no more than 20 students.  Lincoln also offers an independent study component for students who have difficulty succeeding in the traditional classroom setting. Students must be 16 years old to attend Lincoln and take six classes/day taught by five teachers from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.  Lincoln is accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

 Lighthouse Independent Study Program provides students another way of earning credits towards graduation in a non-traditional educational setting.  Each student meets weekly with his/her designated teacher to receive, review and turn in assignments.  Students who read at grade level, can work well independently and don’t need direct instruction to learn experience great academic success at Lighthouse.
