    This year marks the first time SLUSD has hosted a district-wide Read Across America event on February 29th, which is the first day of Read Across America Week. Our elementary libraries are so excited to host our city's school and civic leaders who will read to students and then answer questions about their job.

    The city and school leaders who are visiting our elementary libraries and reading to students will be:

    • Chief Sandra Spagnoli, SLPD Police Chief

  • Big News -- After School Library Hours


    After School Library Congratulations to San Leandro High School and Muir and Bancroft Middle Schools whose libraries are now open M-TH from 7:45-5pm.

    We are also proud to announce that the following elementary schools are now offering extended library hours M-TH from 7:45-5pm: congratulations to Washington, Roosevelt, Wilson, and Monroe whose new library hours are M-TH from 3:30-5:00. Madison Elementary will begin their after-school program on Feruary 29, 2016. Parents of participating elementary schools can find the sign up on the school's webpage, under the Library menu. Secondary schools are on a drop in basis, no advance sign up necessary.

  • Online Enrollment for 2016-17 Starts Feb. 22, 2016

    San Leandro Unified School District will begin accepting online enrollment application for the 2016/17 school year starting on February 22, 2016.

    See below for Transitional Kindergarten (TK) or Kindergarten (K) eligibility:

    • TK Eligibility: A child can enroll in TK if they were born between September 2nd and December 2nd, 2011

    • K Eligibility: Must be born on or before September 1, 2011

    At the January 12, 2016 Board of Education meeting the trustees voted 5-0 to approve the final Secondary Redesign recommendations made by the district.
