San Leandro Unified School District in partnership with the State of California launched a new, flexible tool allowing the public to see how well students within a district or school are performing on a variety of indicators including test scores, graduation rates, suspension rates, English learner progress and college/career readiness. Statement from Superintendent McLaughlin on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Announcement

SAN LEANDRO – San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD) Superintendent Dr. Mike McLaughlin released the following statement regarding the decision on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals:

San Leandro Unified School District joins our colleagues across the state and nation in vigorously opposing the decision announced today to rescind the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which allows undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children to legally remain in the country. I am deeply concerned by the implications of this decision, which impacts 200,000 children in California – many of whom are vibrant and vital members of our San Leandro community. At SLUSD, like many school districts and educational organizations across our nation, we celebrate and honor the unique contributions made by immigrants who work and learn in our schools.
