  • SLUSD Leaders Recognized for Exceptional Leadership and Service

    Leo and Diana

    San Leandro Unified School Board President Leo Sheridan and Trustee Diana Prola were recently recognized at the 2019 City of San Leandro Leadership & Service Awards Ceremony.

    President Sheridan received the District 2 Leadership Award from City Council Member Ed Hernandez for his passionate involvement with local schools, children’s programs, and his many years of service to the city. 

    Trustee Prola received the District 6 Leadership Award from Council Member Pete Ballew for her extensive years of educational leadership and her tireless involvement in District 6 neighborhood and civic activities.

    SLUSD is incredibly fortunate to have these committed leaders working on behalf of their students, staff, and families. They have both played key roles in building the culture of excellence for the award-winning district. Congratulations Leo and Diana!

  • San Leandro High School Featured in California Educator Magazine

    San Leandro High School Social Studies teacher David Mason, who is also a Tobacco Use Prevention Education (TUPE) Coordinator for SLHS, was interviewed by CTA’s California Educator magazine for his work with peer educators who are working hard to educate their fellow Pirates on the serious health consequences of vaping.  Mason’s peer educators have also been educating staff on how to identify vaping devices, which are becoming more and more difficult to spot.
