  • San Leandro High is giving a FREE school-wide SAT to all juniors on Wednesday, March 21, 2018. We’ll provide more details on what this day will look like later.  For now, here is what juniors need to know:

    • The SAT is an admission test accepted by ALL colleges in the US.

    • Income-eligible SAT takers receive college application fee waivers.

    • All students can opt in to Student Search Service® to receive free information about admission and financial aid from colleges, universities, and scholarship programs.

    • Test is usually given on a Saturday and costs $55.

    • Sign up at satpractice.org for free and personalized practice.  Research shows students who spend 20 or more hours on this site gain an average of 115 points from the PSAT to the SAT!
    • The College Bound club has 45 seats for the first students who sign up for an SAT prep class taught by UC Berkeley students.  It is at San Leandro High School from 9-12 every Saturday starting 1/27/2018 through February 24, 2018.  Fee is $40. See Ms. Olson in the Counseling Office ASAP if you are interested.

  • SAT Day at SLHS - Free SAT for Pirate Juniors, March 21

In an effort to improve equity and access for more students to the college admission process, all San Leandro High School 11th grade students will take the SAT exam for FREE on Wednesday, March 21st. The San Leandro Unified School District is funding the cost of the exam. Pirate juniors are automatically registered by the district so there is no need for families to do anything other than ensure students arrive at school rested and ready to focus — with sharp #2 pencils and a calculator. In addition, its important students maximize this opportunity and take advantage of SAT practice opportunities between now and the test administration day. More details to come.
