Dr. Mike McLaughlin, Ed.D; Superintendent
Dr. Michael McLaughlin has been superintendent of the San Leandro Unified School District since 2013, where he quickly launched district wide improvements through the development of an action oriented strategic plan. Prior to San Leandro, Dr. McLaughlin served as superintendent in the John Swett Unified School District, Briggs Elementary School District and the Etna Union Elementary School District. With 16 years of experience as a superintendent, Dr. McLaughlin has demonstrated a strong capacity for leading large scale organizational change to improve student outcomes.
A third generation educator and superintendent, McLaughlin received his Doctor of Education from the University of Southern California and has a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of San Francisco.
Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, Ed.D; Deputy Superintendent
Dr. Rosanna Mucetti came to the San Leandro Unified School District with almost 15 years of experience in education, working primarily with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations. She is passionate about working with English language learners and completed her dissertation on the topic of reforming English language learner support services. Prior to joining the San Leandro Unified School District in a cabinet position, Dr. Mucetti worked at the Buck Institute of Education (BIE) where she worked nationally with districts seeking to implement an innovative instructional reform agenda. Prior to her experience at BIE, Dr. Mucetti served in both the San Jose Unified School District and the Hayward Unified School District.
Dr. Mucetti has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, a MS in Educational Leadership and an Ed.D in Educational Leadership, both from California State University, East Bay.
Dr. Kevin Collins, Ed.D; Assistant Superintendent
Dr. Collins was appointed Assistant Superintendent of Business and Operations as of July 1, 2016. He began his career in education as a middle school math and science teacher in the Oakland Unified School District. He then served as a high school vice principal and middle school principal in the east bay. Most recently, he spent five years as Chief Business Official with the Walnut Creek School District.He received his bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC San Diego and earned his doctorate in Educational Leadership at Saint Mary's College of California. He also currently serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Mills College teaching a course on school finance.Dr. Collins is excited to be part of the San Leandro Unified team and looks forward to contributing to the ongoing success of the district.
