The news crew from ABC7 came to James Monroe Elementary to learn more about being named one of "America's Healthiest Schools" by the Alliance for a Healthier Generation. As one of only 10 schools in the Bay Area to make the list, PE teacher Lynette Watkins was understandably proud of the hard work the school has put into supporting the health and wellness of their students.
The 2018-2019 San Leandro Unified School District State of the District will be held Friday, October 12 in the Fred T. Korematsu gymnasium at San Leandro High School. This annual event has changed format this year, to become a breakfast and bus tour of several SLUSD schools.
The San Leandro Unified School District voted this week to proclaim September as Attendance Awareness month. Resolution 18-40 identifies the crucial link between daily school attendance and student achievement.
School lunches represent more than fuel for young bodies and minds. The math behind those meals feeds revenue streams that can benefit all students. State and federal funding for school districts is determined by the number of students qualified for free and reduced lunch, regardless of whether or not those students participate in the school meal program.
San Leandro Unified School District is seeking proposals from qualified financial advisers to serve as the District’s financial adviser in connection with potential general obligation bonds issuance and related financial matters.
