Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, Ed.D

Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, Ed.D

Dr. Mucetti came to the San Leandro Unified School District with almost 15 years of experience in the field. She has served as a Spanish bilingual elementary classroom teacher, instructional coach, principal, district administrator and director at an educational nonprofit. Dr. Mucetti has worked primarily with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations throughout her entire career. She is passionate about working with English Learners, and completed a dissertation, From Compliance to Instruction: Reforming English Learner Support Services. During the last few years, Dr. Mucetti has gained tremendous experience in strategizing and leading innovative reform efforts as she works to address issues of equity and school district performance in the Hayward and San Jose Unified School Districts. She has serves as an instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and manager of curriculum, instruction and English Learner services.

From there, she spent two years working at the Buck Institute for Education as the Director District and State Initiatives at a national and international level with school districts and ministries of education seeking to redesign schools to support innovation, technology integration and project based learning. She supported district leaders in organizing their districts in ways to increase career and college readiness. She has worked with some of the most innovative school districts across the country as they embraced the shift of the Common Core State Standards, new assessment practices and 21st century teaching and learning approaches.

She is thrilled to bring her experience and learning to SLUSD as she aims to build strong relationships with leaders, teachers and the community in order to continuously improve how we serve students.

Dr. Mucetti has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.S. in Educational Leadership from California State University, East Bay. She also has a multiple subjects, bilingual teaching and administrative services credential. She attained her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on social justice from CSUEB.
